An iron buckle from Mound 1 at Heath Wood, Ingleby. The pin of the buckle is bent to one side. This was part of a grave assemblage that include fragments of a sword and other belt fittings.

Fish-Tail Pendant (DENO-08A172)
This copper-alloy pendant is in the shape of a symmetrical fish-tail decorated with a ring-and-dot motif around the edge. While the reverse of this object has traces of a silver coating, the front does not, which likely means that the silver coating represents solder used to keep the folded-over loops attached. This lead spindle-whorl is undecorated, with a thick white patina and some patchy brown staining. Fibres were spun into thread using a drop-spindle of which the whorls were made of bone, ceramic, lead or stone and acted as flywheels during spinning.

This cast lead spindle-whorl is classed as a Walton Rogers A1 type and, due to its mass, it was likely used for spinning yarn. Fibres were spun into thread using a drop-spindle of which the whorls were made of bone, ceramic, lead or stone and acted as flywheels during spinning.
